Field of sociology
These are the specific field of sociology in which sociologist gets specialization
1. Theoretical Sociology:
Sociological theories analyze the principles, concepts are generalizations of science, The basic function of sociology is to obtain and interpret facts regarding human association through research.
2. Applied Sociology:
In applied sociology, the hypothesis formulated in the light of theory which is later on tested. in applied sociology, cause and consequences are searched and then solutions are consequently suggested. For example, overpopulation is a major obstacle in the way to progress.
In more simple words, theoretical sociology is theory and its applied fields are e.g. administration, Diplomacy, social work, public policy, etc.
3. Political Sociology:
Another branch of sociology is called Political Sociology. In political sociology, voting behaviour, political parties, political movements, political strikes and public opinions are discussed.
In the present era, political sociology is becoming more popular important because all the political leaders consult with a sociologist in order to flourish their political campaign and enhance the productive role of national legislation
4. Rural Sociology.
Rural sociology is a field of sociology associated with the study of social life in the rural social set-up. The scientific study of rula and farmer's community, whether they may live in the city or in the village is called rural sociology. Generally, this community lives in the village and their dominant occupation is agriculture.
there are many NGOs working in Pakistan or the progress and welfare of the small farming community. example rural supports programme. national rural supports programme, kashaf foundation, and action aid.
5. Urban Sociology.
Urban sociology is the sociological study of life and human interaction in metropolitan areas. It is a normative discipline of sociology seeking to so provide inputs for planning and policymaking in the words it is the sociological study of cities and their role in the development of society.
6. Sociology of Law.
Law formulates an organized social system. It provides security and protection to the individual in society. During formulating laws, social norms and values are also kept in mind. For this purpose, consultation is taken form sociologists and maximum public response is obtained.
7. Industrial Sociology.
Industrial institutions reflect an economic web a society as is evident from the study of Karl Marx. These are the basic causes of interruption in the progress and in the administration and management of a capitalistic unit. The sociologists are playing a vital role in solving such problems.
8. Environmental Sociology.
Environmental sociology is playing a key role to improve the environment. It is drawing the attention of the public towards the cleanliness of their houses as ell as mohallas and streets. it
9. Sociology of Religion.
The Musjid, church, temple is studied as a social institution in which their evolutionary structure and functions are deeply observed. The religious institution is a symbol of recognition for any culture so this institution is more prominent than others. It creates brotherhood, solidarity and collective conscience among people
